Developed in response to the growing need for faster, more flexible collection documentation, TMS MediaCapture eliminates the delays of manual file transfers, ensuring every image is immediately linked to the correct object record. Whether working in collection storage, on the loading dock, in the field, or during exhibition installation, museum staff can now add photographs of their collection objects into their database at the exact moment they encounter them.

“I worked in a museum for many years, and I often saw registrars photographing new collection objects, exhibition pieces, or potential acquisitions on their phones, then spending extra time figuring out how to transfer those images to their computers in order to manually upload them into TMS. I thought—if we could build a mobile app that connected directly to the TMS database, we could make this process much easier. That idea became TMS MediaCapture.
